As for your comment, the quote below is from our own Gonzaga Online Bulletin (yes, I am a Zag). Is this the kind of "appreciation" you're talking about?

"As a testament to the basketball community’s involvement with the organization, Spokane Mayor Mary Verner declared Feb. 4 Coaches versus Cancer Day in Spokane. Coaches versus Cancer is a national organization that is supported by the National Association of Basketball Coaches, which raises funds through college basketball programs across the country for the American Cancer Society."

Sorry, you didn't sign up for an appreciation week. It seems like every week or month is tagged with "appreciation" or "awareness" for something. If the city wants that kind of attention, I guess it needs to sign up for a week, but something tells me its not going to find room until at least 2015.

I am a student attending the Literary London program this summer, and noticed just a few blatant and minor errors in "English department re-examines London program" relating to Literary London. The article states that both ENGL 350 and ENGL 316 will be taught by Dr. Maucione, after stating that Dr. Cooley will be teaching in Literary London, but does not state what ENGL she will be teaching. This leaves the reader to question, "What ENGL will Dr. Cooley teach in the Literary London program?" To answer that question, I shall tell you that Dr. Cooley will teach ENGL 350, and Dr. Maucione will teach ENGL 316, as stated in the Literary London brochure printed by the GU Study Abroad office. This brochure that I mention, unfortunately, has an uncorrected typo, that is only slightly relevant to this discussion. Anyway, the Literary London courses are not six-credit courses, but three-credit courses, like semester-long ENGL courses, but only taught for five weeks. They are two courses, but students can earn at least six credits. The author of the article forgot to mention the one-credit ENGL 305 taught by Dr. Cooley as independent study available through the program, a possible choice for Writing Track English majors. The name of the residence hall in which the Literary London students will be staying is the Institute for the International Education of Students. Chelsea is not technically a "neighborhood", but a metropolitan borough, part of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. Literary London is referred to as a "course", but it is in fact a program, which involves courses but is not a course itself. Yet, in the second following sentence, it is given the correct name, a "program". Gonzaga Bulletin, carry on with your printing of newspapers and writing of articles and taking of pictures and such and such, but next time, check your facts, and make sure your editors catch mistakes or omissions before the Bulletin goes to print. If they don't, I'll find them and comment on their existence.

I know that Heather is soft-spoken and probably doesn't care about the record, but it would have been nice to hear from her in this story.
