Bill McKibben, author of "Deep Economy," will discuss "The Environment, the Economy and Our Future" at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 3, in the Cataldo Hall Globe Room. This event is free and open to the public.

According to a press release, McKibben attended Harvard College, where he edited the Harvard Crimson newspaper. After college, he became a staff writer for The New Yorker. In addition to "Deep Economy," he has published several other books, including "Enough" and "Wandering Home." In late summer 2006, he helped lead a five-day walk across Vermont to demand action to slow global warming. Some newspaper accounts called it the largest demonstration about climate change to date in America.
