Senior Drew Hoffman sustained a spinal cord injury at the beginning of December while attending the Battle in Seattle. He is a Colorado native, but remains in Seattle for recovery. During his stay at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle there has been an outpouring of compassion from our student body and alumni population. Over 1000 current and past Gonzaga students have joined Drew's Facebook support group, prompting prayer circles across the nation and Zags offering their services to the family.

Seattle-based students organized donation systems and meal delivery for the Hoffmans over winter break. The funding for meals went to a student's mother whose company has been catering meals for the family. A similar fundraiser was organized in Denver for the students in Colorado. The thousands of well wishes and prayers posted on Drew's Facebook group wall included a personal get-well video from a student and her family on Christmas.

For those wishing to help the Hoffman family, an on-campus mailbox has been set up. Checks can be made out to Drew Hoffman Family at US Bank MSC 275.

Information regarding Drew's recovery can be found on his family's blog at DrewsNews.org.
