Feeling anxious and need a break? Here are some fun and rewatchable movies to stream on Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, Hulu and Amazon Prime.

"The Emperor’s New Groove" (2000): This post-Disney Renaissance comedy about a self-centered Incan emperor turned llama is fairly underrated when it comes to the animated films of our childhood.

Stream on Disney+

"Before Sunrise" (1995): The first of the Before trilogy, two twenty-somethings stay in Vienna for only one evening knowing they might not see each other ever again. For my fellow study abroad friends, this movie will make you miss running through the Santa Maria Novella station and making memories across Europe.

Stream on HBO Max

"Love & Basketball" (2000): All’s fair in love and basketball in this LA-set, decade-spanning romance directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood about two childhood best friends-to-D1 athletes navigating young love and professional aspirations.

Stream on HBO Max and Hulu

"The Parent Trap" (1998): An international identity swap, Oreos & peanut butter and "There She Goes?" It is pretty much impossible not to smile while watching Lindsay Lohan’s twin antics.

Stream on Disney+

The Ocean’s film series (2001-2018): For the celebrity-obsessed movie goers like me, this extremely cool heist series features George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts and Sandra Bullock flexing their star personas, complete with witty banter, jazzy editing and a lot of sandwich-eating for Pitt.

Stream the trilogy on Netflix, Ocean’s 8 on HBO Max

"10 Things I Hate About You" (1999): I don’t hate it, not even a little bit, not even at all; this high school comedy by way of Shakespeare filmed in Tacoma is absolutely essential. Also, Heath Ledger’s serenade of “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You” will need to be re-wound multiple times.

Stream on Disney+

"Coming to America" (1988): Eddie Murphy stars as Prince Akeem, who journeys from the fictional Zamunda to New York City to find his queen, making friends at the knock off McDonald’s and barbershop in the process. Plus, the long-awaited sequel is on Amazon Prime.

Stream on Amazon Prime

"Palm Springs" (2020): Hulu’s twist on "Groundhog Day" was a major streaming hit of last summer. The Lonely Island and "How I Met Your Mother" fans alike will be satisfied with this modern rom com, which also features a surprising prehistoric cameo.

Stream on Hulu

The Mission Impossible franchise (1996 – Present): Mission Impossible is one of those few franchises where the films only get better with each sequel. We can only hope for more decades of globe-trotting, Burj Khalifa-scaling missions with Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt.

Stream and Rent on Hulu and Amazon Prime

"Field of Dreams" (1989): There is something very comforting about baseball films, whether it’s the magic and wonder in "The Natural" or unlikely friendships and sisterly bonds in "A League of Their Own." For Kevin Costner, America’s pastime is rediscovered in his own Iowa corn field in this sentimental sports classic.

Stream on Amazon Prime
