A woman visiting Gonzaga reported that she was sexually assaulted on campus Wednesday morning.

The woman was groped and kissed inside the Gonzaga Law School building at approximately 11:15 a.m., according to a campus-wide email from Becky Wilkey, associate director of campus security and safety.

The man lured the woman toward him and said he needed a hug. Then, he assaulted her.

The woman pushed the man away and told the suspect that his behavior was inappropriate.

The suspect is not affiliated with GU and was described by the victim to be 5'4, stocky build, with blue eyes, a black baseball cap, black jacket, blue jeans and tattoos on his neck, the email said.

The man fled the building before CSPS was contacted.

The Spokane Police Department was notified of the assault.

In any situation where personal safety feels threatened or suspicious activity is taking place, immediately contact SPD by dialing 911, then contact CSPS at 509-313-2222.

Campus security was not immediately available for comment.
