At approximately 9:30 last night, campus security responded to a call from a student concerning a “suspicious subject” in the parking lot of the Kennedy Apartment building, according to Campus Security and Public Safety (CSPS) sources.

The subject was in possession of what looked a “pellet gun”, said CSPS director Scott Snider.

Campus security on scene was able to identify the subject and detain him until Spokane Police arrived.

SPD and CSPS removed the subject from campus. If he returns, he will go to jail, said a CSPS source.

The subject was unhappy about being removed from campus and reacted loudly, said security on scene.

CSPS said that it is normal to have transient types wandering through campus, and commended the student for calling in.
