The WCC revenge tour for the 2020-21 Gonzaga women’s basketball team is now set, with the team’s opening night coming in late December.

The West Coast Conference (WCC) released the 2020-21 women’s basketball conference schedule Wednesday morning. Per a GU women’s basketball news release, the season will begin Dec. 28 and conclude Feb. 27.

The Zags have accumulated 15 of the last 16 WCC titles, and coming off the loss of the 2019-20 title, the team looks to avenge its loss in the WCC tournament last season against the University of Portland.

The opening matchup for the Zags will be against Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles on Dec. 28. According to the news release, this will be the fourth time in five years where the Zags will start the season on the road.

The Zags will play three games straight at home after their road trip to Southern California. Saint Mary’s, University of Pacific and Portland will come to The Kennel from Jan. 2 to Jan. 9, followed by a road trip to Northern California to play Santa Clara University and the University of San Francisco.

After the Zags’ game against BYU in Spokane on Jan. 23, the team will play Saint Mary’s, Pacific and Portland all on the road, with the Tigers coming first on the list, followed by the Gaels and finishing off with Pilots.

The Zags will face USF and Santa Clara at home prior to two road matchups against BYU and USD. The team will finish the season at home against Pepperdine and LMU Feb. 25 and Feb. 27, respectively. The WCC Tournament is scheduled for March 4-9 in Las Vegas.

More on the Zags’ non-conference schedule will come soon.
