pacific postponed

Andrew Nembhard recorded his first double-double as a Zag on Thursday as he scored 22 points and had 12 assists.

The Gonzaga University men’s basketball game against the University of the Pacific on Jan. 20 has been postponed due to health and safety protocols within the Tigers program. Both schools are working with the West Coast Conference (WCC) to reschedule the game.

Pacific Athletics announced that the game against GU is one of the team’s next three games that have been postponed, including Saturday’s matchup at Saint Mary’s and Monday’s bout with Pepperdine. The Tigers are slated to return to action at home against San Diego on Jan. 22.

For the Bulldogs, this is the fourth game that will have to be rescheduled due to COVID-19 protocols. Following Saturday’s road game against Santa Clara, the team isn’t slated to see action until Jan. 27 against Loyola Marymount.

Since 2012, the Zags are undefeated against the Tigers in 10 matchups between the programs. The most recent victory came in Stockton, California, last season, when Drew Timme scored 21 points to help overcome a one-point halftime deficit.
