Dusty Stromer

Dusty Stromer averaged 20.1 points and 6.4 rebounds for Notre Dame High School during his junior season.

After missing out on several high school recruits and potential transfers in recent months, Gonzaga landed 2023 recruit Dusty Stromer and LSU transfer Efton Reid on Sunday.

Stromer, the No. 47 ranked player in his class according to 247sports’ composite rankings, announced his decision on Instagram.

“This process has been one of the most amazing experiences in my life and I’m so grateful for all the programs that believed in me,” Stromer said in an Instagram video. “At the end of the day, I can only pick one school. I’m excited to announce I’m committing to Gonzaga University.”

The Sherman Oaks, California, native is GU's first 2023 recruit after several of the program's other targets committed elsewhere.

A 6-foot-6 wing, Stromer averaged 20.1 points and 6.4 rebounds for Notre Dame High School during his junior season.

While Stromer will wait another year before playing for GU, Efton Reid could make an immediate impact for the Zags.

Reid, one of 11 LSU players who entered the transfer portal, announced his decision on Instagram with the caption, “Let’s get to work!! @zagmbb.”

The 6-foot-11, 238-pound center averaged 6.3 points, 4.3 rebounds and 0.8 blocks while helping the Tigers (22-12, 9-9) achieve a No. 6 seed in the NCAA Tournament as a freshman this past season. He started in all 32 games for LSU and played 19.6 minutes per game.

Reid's experience as a starter could prove beneficial to a Zags team that might lose all five of this season's starters to the 2022 NBA Draft.
