Following the match, GU head coach D.J. Gurule was left grateful and excited for what’s to come.

“I really thought the guys did a great job with their energy. After an extended break they were ready to compete,” Gurule said. “Ultimately, we were able to control our controllables, which led to a good outcome.”

GU heads to California this coming weekend to play UCLA this coming Friday before visiting UC Irvine on Saturday. Gurule sees the matches as a way for his players to prove themselves.

“We see our upcoming matches in LA as a great opportunities,” Gurule said. “We know that UCLA is a very good team, but so are we. The guys will be ready to go and we are looking forward to the challenge.”
